BRUSSELS, 12 March 2010 – Stibbe was the only firm to win 3 awards at the 5th edition of the Belgian Legal Awards in Brussels. These awards honour excellence, continuity and innovation in the legal sphere.
After having won twice the “Managing Partner of the Year” award in prior editions, Stibbe captured the prestigious “Belgian Law Firm of the Year” award. The jury motivated its choice by pointing out the firm's significant growth over the last couple of years, Stibbe's well-thought strategy, social engagement, high quality service offering and excellent value for money offering.
In addition, Stibbe was rewarded for the third time in a row with the “Employment Law Firm of the Year” award and also won the “IP, IT & TMT Law Firm of the Year” award. These awards confirm the extraordinary work of these teams in 2009 and acknowledge that they are true experts in their respective areas of law.
Olivier Clevenbergh, Managing Partner of Stibbe, is delighted with Stibbe's results at the Belgian Legal Awards: “We are, of course, extremely pleased with these recognitions, especially after a year of global recession. For me this recognition is a consequence of our well-thought strategy: in 2009 Stibbe continued to invest in people as well as in quality and know-how and this to the benefit of our clients. Thus I would like to dedicate these awards to them, as it is because of our clients' confidence that we can continue to grow as a truly full-service firm in Belgium with specialists in every single field of business law and with a strong alliance network for cross-border transactions.”
For the 5th time in a row Stibbe has managed to take home at least one award at the Belgian Legal Awards. Besides the abovementioned awards, Stibbe has obtained an Award for "IP Law Firm of the Year" (2007), "Real Estate & Construction law firm of the year" (2008) and "Employment Law Firm of the Year" (2008 and 2009). This year, Stibbe was nominated in no less than 12 different categories, which is a strong evidence of its full service capacity and its leadership in Belgium.
